Late Post Because...

We have been so busy with other things, that we realized we were running out of time to get our hunting in before A Zone closed (it's the earliest deer hunt in the US from my understanding). So with that in mind, we decided we were going to dedicate our weekend to getting a deer. We had ZERO expectations, to be fair, it's the hottest time of year, even in that area, and Saturday was 101 degrees Fahrenheit by the time we called it quites at nearly 2pm O_o (yes we are crazy why?).

In fact, it was so brutal Saturday that we didn't even head back out for evening hunt. We just stayed in the aircon, hydrated, and slept.

Sunday morning we set back out again, with closer stands in mind than the day before (a mile walk vs the nearly three of the day before). I sat in a stand that I've seen plenty of deer in, but almost always does. So I get it tidied up, settle in and expect, well, nothing.

About eight AM a buck walked right by my stand (about three yards from where I was sitting) and had no idea I was there. I didn't care about much beyond the fact that he was legal, (He was a 1x2 honestly), so when he gave me the opportunity, I filled my tag. Come to find out that I got the heaviest buck of the season so far, and he was older (estimated at five years) and on the decline (hence the one by two point count). He weighed dressed at 129 pounds. (we're in Cali, don't judge, they don't get too huge in our area.) :P

So yeah, for the first time in four years, I got a deer (it's been longer since my last buck truth be told). YAY me. Yay Venison!

Michael: The Cause and Anger Management!

I estimate there are about 2-3 pages left in the final chapter of The Cause! So by, say, Mid-September, this arc of the comic will be completed!! I started this journey in 2018, and it's taken me seven years to work through the story! I hope you all have enjoyed Michael's freshman adventures! (By the numbers I have a decent, if quiet, following! That's heartening.) Thank you for all of those readers who took the time to leave comments, ask questions, and even point out the oopsies as the pages accumulated.

On the flip side of that, Michael's journey will not be ending with the current story arc! Anger Management will start production shortly! I want to get a decent buffer on the story so I have decided to stick with tradition and start the new arc in on the first Monday of January, 2026!

I'm considering putting some concept work up occasionally on the new sub-domain, so you can add it to your RSS feed to keep up with those!!

Hope to see you there!
